SYSTEM OF COOLING MACHINE;
The cooling system is a system which absorbs the heat resulting from combustion and friction during the engine operations.
The 1/3 of consumed fuels inside an engine was converted to the power. Another 1/3 of the fuels were exhausted. Remaining 1/3 of the fuels was converted to heat energy and this part increase the heat of the engine parts. . The Cooling system is a vital part of the internal combustion engines. Because if your engine hasn't any cooling system, increased heat energy erodes the parts of the engine or blocks moving to be expand pistons due to increasing heat and friction.
The cooling system of a water cooled engine is consists of the cooling rooms and water channels of the engine, thermostat, water pump, heat exchanger, radiator cap, electricalor belt driven fan, metal pipes, rubber hoses, heater radiator and expansion tank.
Internal combustion engines release huge amount of heat during its operation. Exhaust system of the vehicle exhausts a sizeable amount of heat energy, but cylinder cover and walls and pistons absorb huge amount of heat energy. If these sections of the engine are overheated, the oil layer inside the engine loses the ability to preservation. Thus, the engine can be damaged due to lack of oil. On the other hand, when the engine work with lower temperatures, the fuel consumption is increased together with decreased efficiency and other problems such as dirty oils etc
Major parts of a cooling system; Radiator, radiator cap, electrical or belt-driven cooling fan, rubber hose, temperature switch, thermostat and expansion tank.
RADIATOR: Radiator is made cooling operation which put heat water out serpentines. It keeps maximum amount water in its groove and complete cooling due to contact part of it with atmosphere. Cooler core, provided entrance water up boiler and transported water back down boiler create radiator. Some radiator has side boiler, water in machine come up boiler and put water out grooves from up during engine operation. It helps to decrease water temperature due to air hits serpentines during water flows down.
RADIATOR CAP: It cools water inside the system with using pressure. Radiator cap keeps cooling liquid in radiator previously specified pressure. If liquid can't keep under pressure, water will be boiled and disappeared. It stops to boil by supplying necessary pressure. If water goes up from 100 degree, the water in the system can't boil due to boiling point raise with pressure.
FANS: If vehicle goes enough speed, free air passed from the grills in front of the vehicle and reaches the radiator core in order to make cooling operation. If vehicle doesn't reach enough speed, fans start and supply necessary amount of air. Fans provide cooling during slow moving or idle running belts. Additionally they can install sequestered. Fans fixed to the battery and they work with electric.
TEMPERATURE SWİTCH: The indicator which is mounted to the radiator is the element of the water cooling system. Its task is sending a signal for electrical fan to become a part of the activity via measuring water temperature.
HEATER RADIATOR: The heater radiator is used for heating inside the vehicle. Its location is usually behind the dashboard of the vehicle. A part of freezing liquid and water mixture are passed from radiator. After starting and switch on the heating system, it starts to heat inside vehicles with the help of operation of a small electric fan. Before engine’s heating, the heater radiator cannot blow the heat air. Because it blows the heated air which is received from the engine
WATER PUMP: Engine water pumps may be produced with different engineering designs. But, all of them work with same operational principles. Water pump is part of cooling system which antifreeze and water mixture and it circulates this liquid between cooling room, cooling channels and radiator cooper in order to cool of the engine
EXPANSİON TANK: Most of cooling system uses a plastic overflow cap or expansion tank which is connected to the overflow hose of the radiator. When the cooling liquid expanded, this cap/tank provides an extra capacity. When the engine heated the cooling liquid expands. Vacuum provides to absorb spillover liquid back due to create vacuum during cooling engine in cooling system. This is wholly closed system and cooling liquid exposed to expansion and contraction between expansion tank and system. If system is working correct, there is no fluid loss. One of other property expansion tank can destroy bubble. If cooling liquid has bubble, there is lower yield than has't. Expansion tank's main duty always provides to be full for radiator.
THERMOSTAT: Thermostat provides quicker heating during first working machine. Thermostat can provide to bring optimum engine temperature less time after cancel cooling system in working machine first step. After go up to line and reach expanding optimum pistons, it let’s to go on for cooling liquid.
